The Wiki

The idea of a Wiki was a little scary to me at first...anyone may edit the information? Wikipedia does it so I suppose it is possible. After looking at "BookLoversWiki" I think it would be neat to have an area on our library's website where folks could write reviews and such BUT then I suppose someone would need to constantly monitor the reviews??? I also liked "SJCPL Subject Guide Wiki" as a research tool. Back to playing!

RSS & Newsreaders

I am still learning how to best utilize my newsreaders. I have played around with RSS feeds a little but personally I think I need to play a whole lot more. I think I discovered how to add my other blogs to mine using Bloglines BUT Bloglines is down for the moment. :( There is so much information!!!

Tagging & Folksonomies

Social tagging could prove to be one of the most beneficial "things" for me. I just "played" for fifteen minutes on Del.icio.us and was amazed by what I found. This is great!!

Where are my dots????

So I keep adding all of these "things" to my blog and clearly I am doing something wrong. But what? I will have to do a little more searching. :(

Sign Generators

So, I played around with an online image gernerator called "Sign Generators"...very funny! I have add it to my "Bloglines" or "feeds" to the left if you are interested in checking it out.

LibraryThing

Okay, so "LibraryThing" didn't turn out the way I think it was suppose to.... Perhaps I need a little help. But I did play around on the site and it is very cool! I like the "PSST" feature. There is so much to learn and so little time!!

RSS

Attaching RSS feeds to my blog proved to be a bit of a challenge for me. Once I figured out which username I was suppose to use things started falling into place. It is neat to see my blog slowly growing with each new "thing" I learn. :)

Learning 2.0 is proving to be a wonderful learning experience for me. I had a lot of fun "playing" with the Flickr mashups. My favorite was Flickr Color Pickr. I am trying to explore as much as possible and by doing so I feel like I am not too far behind the technology wave. (I may not be riding it but I could be....) The "Trading Card Maker" was very cool too and I plan to put this to use for some giggles.

Blogging can be fun!!!

WOW! That was much easier than I thought it would be! I have found that I don't use technology to my advantage. I don't really have an excuse except maybe that there is soooo much out there it seems overwhelming to me. (I know not at good excuse.) Also don't make time to play around with what I have learned. So, now I am aware something is there for me to use to save time I just don't know how to use it well enough to save time. I am working on improving on this though. :) I do accept responsibility for my own learning and this is why I am trying real hard to make time to learn these "23 Things".
